AQUA - Water Infrastructure, Ecosystems and Society Special Issue on
Emerging Machine Learning and Optimization Techniques in Urban Water Systems
CALL FOR PAPERS
Traditional machine learning (ML) as well as emerging deep learning (DL) techniques are increasingly used by hydraulic engineers for pattern recognition, plausible reasoning, and optimal design and operation of hydrosystems. Despite their outstanding abilities to solve complex problems, predictive accuracy and computational power of ML techniques significantly relies on the selection of appropriate inputs and structural tuning of the technique. To tackle these problems, recent studies introduce novel hybrid models and optimization techniques. This Special Issue intends to include papers introducing and application of novel ML, DL, and optimization techniques to solve a variety of problems in urban water system.
We are pleased to invite you to submit a manuscript to AQUA - Water Infrastructure, Ecosystems and Society for peer review and possible publication in a Special Issue entitled 'Emerging Machine Learning and Optimization Techniques in Urban Water Systems'.
Relevant topics include:
- Supervised Learning for Classification and Regression Problems in Urban Water Systems
- Unsupervised Methods for Clustering Problems in Urban Water Systems
- Vanilla Models, Hybrid Models, and Ensemble Approaches
- Shallow Learning and Deep Learning
- Modern and Emerging Optimization Techniques
