AQUA Special Issue on
Visions for a sustainable water future
CALL FOR PAPERS
Water plays a key role in the transition to a sustainable world. To support this development the aims and scope of AQUA have been refocused.
The transition includes exchanging old systems intelligently based on systematic asset management, preparing new and old systems for the effects of climate change and most importantly ensuring a human water supply without compromising ecosystems. To succeed requires an intelligent integration between society and nature looking at land and related resources as well. It requires co-creation processes with all relevant stakeholders including so far underrepresented stakeholders such as women and minorities to ensure social welfare.
The first issue in 2021 will be a special visionary issue, with contributions expected from such field leaders as Gustaf Olsson (Lund University, Sweden), Guy Howard (University of Bristol, UK), Veera Gnaneswar Gude (Mississippi State University, USA) and Veronica Strang (Durham University, UK). The issue will mark the full transition of the journal to the renewed agenda and we hope it will be full of vision, hope and ideas. If you carry in you a vision for such a future and can point at some of the elements we need to put in place for this to succeed, we invite you to submit a visionary paper.
AQUA has since 1951 worked to support the water sector with the newest research results from academia and will continue to do so.
