Special Issue on
Novel Water Treatment Options for Sustainable Solutions to Clean Water Scarcity
CALL FOR PAPERS
Water availability is a pressing issue in current times. Increase in urban population, limiting natural resources and improper water management has increased the need for effective & efficient water treatment strategies. The global water crisis has many causes, requiring many different solutions which must span policy, technology, and behaviour change to make a real difference. Thus, innovation and technology have a vital role to play in scarcity and safety, water efficiency, utility operations, monitoring, treatment and data analytics.
Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat (State), India is associated with two major research projects on “Low Cost - Renewable Energy Driven (LC-RED) Water Treatment Solutions Centre”; (https://lc-red.wixsite.com/lcred) and “bIo-mimetic and phyto-techNologies DesIgned for low-cost purificAtion and recycling of water (INDIA-H2O)”; (www.india-h2o.eu). The University organised the 1st International Conference on Advances in Water Treatment and Management 2022 (ICAWTM22: https://www.pdeu-h2o.com/) during 25-27 March 2022. The conference was a great success with over 200 papers submitted from around the globe.
The ICAWTM22 aimed to present options for low-cost renewable energy, highly efficient water treatment solutions, innovation in water desalination and water treatment technologies. This Special Issue aims to publish research and review articles on advanced and efficient water treatment technologies and options. Articles on topics related to renewable energy-based desalination, thermal desalination, hybrid systems in integration with natural systems or water recycling, water reuse, water management, policies, economical assessments, and case studies are preferred.
We are pleased to invite you to submit a manuscript to AQUA - Water Infrastructure, Ecosystems and Society for peer review and possible publication in a Special Issue entitled ‘Novel water treatment options for sustainable solutions to clean water scarcity’.
Relevant topics include:
- Novel water treatment options for sustainable solutions to clean water scarcity;
