Blue-Green Systems Special Issue on:
Worldwide Experience on NbS in the Water Sector
CALL FOR PAPERS
Water related issues, including quantitative and qualitative aspects such as flood protection, safe discharge, groundwater recharge, water pollution control and safe water reuse, are of a high importance. Nature-based solutions (NbS) have become an important approach in this aspect. Through accurate and interdisciplinary design it is also possible to enhance and maximize the multiple benefits of NbS (e.g. water and nutrient recovery, biodiversity, cooling, energy reduction and more) beyond water and wastewater management.
This Special Issue invites authors to submit predominantly research, review and case study papers dealing with the topics related to NbS for urban water management. As the problems of urban water become critical with rapidly rising population and climate change coupled with increasing water scarcity, there is a need of novel solutions which include appropriate technologies for different geographic and economic contexts. The intent is to increase awareness of the possibilities of NbS to support sustainable urban water management, helping to gain recognition in the worldwide scientific community.
We are pleased to invite you to submit a manuscript to Blue-Green Systems for peer review and possible publication in a Special Issue entitled Worldwide Experience on NbS in the Water Sector.

Expected publication: Papers will be published online as soon as possible after acceptance.
