Blue-Green Systems Special Issue on

Sustainable Natural and Engineered Water Systems Management

This Special Issue focuses on sources, occurrence, transformations, and fate of micropollutants in natural and engineered environments, with an emphasis on inland fisheries and aquaculture, the sources and sinks of antibiotic residues, EDCs, microplastics, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, and the progress in removing these emerging pollutants from water, soil, and sediments.

The Special Issue was originally opened for paper submissions from participants of the IWA Sustainable Natural and Engineered Water Systems Management (SWSM) Conference 2023 (Bangkok, Thailand), however, it has now been expanded to accept any research articles relevant to “Sustainable Natural and Engineered Water Systems Management”. The Special Issue welcomes research articles that provide the latest scientific and practical knowledge on the occurrence of contaminants of emerging concern in natural and engineered water systems, as well as environmental technologies that promote sustainable water system management.

We are pleased to invite you to submit a manuscript to Blue-Green Systems for peer review and possible publication in a Special Issue entitled ‘Sustainable Natural and Engineered Water Systems Management’.

Relevant topics include:

  • Sustainable urban water systems management and climate change impacts
  • Source control of antibiotic residues, EDCs, microplastics and PFAS
  • Environmental technologies for pollutant management
  • Prevalence of emerging pollutants in drinking water and reclaimed water

Key dates:
