Uncovering WaSH inequities in High Income Countries: Re-imagining equitable services

The importance of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) inequities in High-Income Countries (HICs) lies in addressing overlooked populations and rethinking service design for equity and sustainability. As normative concepts shift in the mid-2020s, it urges a reimagining of WaSH systems rooted in equity, justice, and the overarching principle of the Sustainable Development Goals: ‘leave no one behind’.

This Special Issue brings together interdisciplinary research, practice-based insights, and transdisciplinary reflections to explore governance challenges and pathways to just, inclusive services. By examining diverse perspectives, it highlights the need for sustainable, people-centered solutions that challenge existing norms and prioritize equity in WaSH service delivery.
