Wetland Systems for Water Pollution Control (ICWS22)
The use of treatment wetlands has evolved beyond a technical innovation into a means of rethinking our relationship with nature and its solutions. By adopting sustainable wastewater treatment, we move toward a future where human development and environmental preservation go hand in hand. The International Conference on Wetland Systems for Water Pollution Control (ICWS) is a key forum for wetland research. The 17th edition, held in Lyon, France, in October 2022 explored urban wetlands and resource recovery, reflecting the growing importance of nature-based solutions.
This Special Issue highlights treatment wetlands for water reuse, climate adaptation, co-benefits, pollution control, process modelling and emerging contaminant removal, covering advancements in wastewater treatment, new designs, and purification optimization.
