Hydrology Research Special Issue on

Hydrological Observations and Data Analysis Using Connected Sensors

CALL FOR PAPERS

Hydrological observations and analysis can be made more effective through the modern technology boom of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). Integrating AI with the IoT creates an intelligent control that enhances the performance of existing products & services. Whereas, WSN has advantages well known for collecting data and enabling control of sensor activity under environmental conditions. When such intelligent IoT is empowered with WSN it creates a new paradigm that supports sensors for monitoring and recording the physical conditions of the environment with hi-tech assessment. In hydrology observation: intelligent IoT-empowered WSN could replace traditional methods and provide an intelligent water management system for a hassle-free assessment to the hydrologists.

In this regard, a common platform is always needed to share the views of different researchers relating to the complicated facets of intelligent IoT-empowered WSNs for hydrological observations and data analysis. We invite authors to submit original research and review articles that cover the methodological innovation regarding hydrological observations, data analysis, modelling, and management.

We are pleased to invite you to submit a manuscript to Hydrology Research for peer review and possible publication in a Special Issue entitled ‘Hydrological Observations and Data Analysis Using Connected Sensors’.

Relevant topics include:

  • Design and development of smart water monitoring and control.
  • Enhanced AI-IoT empowered WSN for water management.
  • Water level monitoring in river basins, oceans, and aquifers using IoT.
  • Water quality monitoring using IoT.
  • Hydrological and climate applications and services
  • Intelligent water management for farming, household and industry.
  • Application in irrigation and electricity generation.
  • AI-IoT empowered WSN for a smart ecosystem.
  • Application of sensors in monitoring water extraction
  • Machine learning techniques in smart water monitoring and control

Key dates:

Deadline for manuscript submission: 20th November, 2024

Expected publication: Articles will be published online as soon as possible after acceptance.

Guest Editors:

Dr. Sitharthan R, Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.
