If your paper is published under an Open Access CC BY, CC BY NC-ND, CC BY-NC, or CC BY-ND license (or earlier versions of these licenses), you can archive the final published version of your paper according to the terms of the respective license. For more information on this, see here.

 

If your paper was published prior to 1 January 2021 and is not licensed under a CC BY license, IWA Publishing allows you to self-archive the submitted version of your manuscript at any point, and the author accepted version after a 12-month embargo period. To make sure you are complying with our archiving policies, please make sure you read all of the information here.

  

OA Waivers & Institutional Agreements 

To encourage our authors to publish OA, IWA Publishing is actively engaged in setting up institutional agreements and OA waivers. An article processing charge may be due after peer review if your institution does not have a publishing agreement in place with us. Please review the associated fees.

Retrospective Open Access

We offer authors who have published in IWA Publishing journals prior to 1 January 2021 the opportunity to make their papers open access retrospectively. Please contact us for further details.

Open Archives

Under Subscribe to Open, archives of less than 5 years old are open and 'free-to-read' in all S2O journals. In addition, all archived articles of the Journal of Water and Health and Journal of Hydroinformatics are free to access online.
