The field data provided by Buyalski (1983) were employed for the prediction of the discharge coefficient of submerged radial gates. Eleven canal check structures with considerable variation in geometry were selected for the modeling process. The number of radial gates per check structure ranged from two to five. The gate seal types of investigated radial gates are hard rubber bars and music notes, except for the west canal, which uses the features of both (Figure 1). The characteristics of the investigated radial gates are presented in Tables 1 and 2.
