The Ají stream starts at the confluence of the Cortaderas and Zelegüa streams with some supply from the Suco lagoon. From the middle basin, it is a permanent stream as the result of groundwater contribution. The flow varies between summer (0.8 m3/s) and winter (in the order of 0.40 m3/s) with an average water velocity of 0.33 m/s (Table 1).
