Monitoring and Assessing Water Quality - Sustainable Technologies and Practices




It is globally recognised that monitoring and assessing water quality is vital for successfully managing all water resources and for understanding natural resources and the environment. Monitoring and assessing water quality can help to ensure water is clean and safe in order to provide the best possible conditions for individuals and communities who rely on a strong water sector in their everyday lives. Thus, monitoring and assessing water quality are necessary for sustainable water management.

This Special Issue presents new perspectives on how to achieve this goal through the involvement of stakeholder groups from key sectors, particularly local communities where the impacts are greatest. It will introduce in-depth investigations on the challenges and opportunities in monitoring and assessing water quality, as well as exploring the underlying technologies, practices, and procedures that are required to monitor and assess water quality effectively. Through presenting an international perspective of current monitoring and assessment practice, research in this stream provides scientists and water managers with an overview of the existing knowledge base, science-based tools and techniques available for monitoring and assessing water quality. It will also offer guidance on how to get the most out of this resource to promote more prudent and sustainable use of our vital natural resources.

We are pleased to invite you to submit a manuscript to Water Supply for peer review and possible publication in a Special Issue entitled Monitoring and Assessing Water Quality - Sustainable Technologies and Practices.

Key dates:

Deadline for manuscript submission: August 15th, 2022

Expected publication: Accepted papers will be published online as soon as possible after acceptance.

Please make sure that your paper follows the Instructions to Authors of the journal, before submitting your paper directly to Water Supply’s peer review system. Then choose the article type – ‘Special Issue Article OA’ and the submission category – Special Issue: Monitoring and Assessing Water Quality. This will send your paper to one of the Guest Editors.
