Infiltration rate can show a long term reduction over time in wastewater infiltration systems and it has been shown that soil adsorption of phosphorus from wastewater is higher than adsorption isotherms predict. These phenomena can partly be explained by particles found in the clogging layer of waste-water infiltration systems.
