Design guidelines for waste stabilization ponds serving tourist areas in mediterranean Europe are given, with recommendations for per caput wastewater flows and BOD5 contributions, for the selection of design temperatures, and for appropriate equations for the design of anaerobic, facultative and maturation ponds.
