The poster describes investigations on two planted soil filters for wastewater treatment (constructed wetlands with subsurface water flow), which are filled with various kinds of soil. The filters are planted with helophytes. The hydraulic surface loading was between 4 and 60 mm/day. The purification efficiency was between 72 and 99 % with respect to BOD5 and between 61 and 99 % with respect to COD. The elimination of the nutrients (Ntot and Ptot) varied between 5 and almost 100 %.
