For purposes of standardisation the authors have investigated certain types of calculation methods for sewer systems. The first phase in this investigation is a feasibility study for the use of dynamic calculation methods, both practical and technical. The results of the calculations have been compared with measurement data. This has been done for calculations of sewerage systems in detail as well as for long-term series of rain data from the area in question. The measurement data of Loenen nearby Apeldoorn (The Netherlands) were used. From the results of the investigation, the conclusion can been drawn that these types of calculations are feasible, in other words real, but standardisation of methods for calculation of sewerage systems based on only the results of this phase is still fiction. However, the investigation has resulted in a clear insight how to proceed to reach the final goal: new guidelines.
