In this paper, the wastewater treatments of the three most significant agroindustries in Uruguay, slaughterhouse, woolscouring and tannery, are described. Different strategies are used depending on: type of industry, localization, economical possibilities, innovative disposition of management officers. Although more work must be done to improve with “reasonable” costs the wastewater treatments of these industries, actual results are presented.
