A full-scale sludge recovery pilot plant has been in operation since autumn 1995 at Helsingborg WWTP in Sweden, a facility which treats wastewater from 150,000 p.e. The pilot plant, with a maximum capacity of 500 kg TS/hour, is now redesigned and automated for continuous operation. In this paper the process, operational experiences as well as difficulties and utilisation of the products, will be presented.
